Co je vlastně protikladem skutečnosti, když i to skutečné je
jen konstrukcí naší mysli? Skupina lidí, které spojuje diagnóza
absence, se na nelehké otázky snaží najít odpovědi u svých
nejbližších, v černých dírách, u Anishe Kapoora a především ve
vlastní hlavě.
Absence se jako druh epilepsie projevuje krátkými ztrátami vědomí
– okolí se zdá, že jste přestali vnímat skutečnost, ale oni nedokážou
vnímat tu, která se tvoří ve vaší mysli. Řídí se tedy skutečnost hranicemi
našeho vědomí? Imerzivní filmová esej se intimní kontemplací
nad limity mysli a dialogem mezi neurology a pacienty snaží hledat
odpovědi, zatímco nám nepřestává pokládat stále těžší otázky.
What is the opposite of reality, when reality itself is just a construct
of our mind? A group of people connected by the diagnosis
of absence try to find answers to difficult questions in their loved
ones, black holes, Anish Kapoor, and most importantly, in their
own heads.
As with epilepsy, absence manifests itself in short losses of consciousness—to
those around you it seems that you have stopped
sensing reality, when they are not able to sense the one which
evolves in your head. Is reality led by the borders of our consciousness?
The immersive film essay uses intimate contemplation to
meditate over the borders of our minds and dialogue between neurologists
and patients to attempt to find answers while asking us
more and more challenging questions.
