Zatímco v Asii, Africe či Latinské Americe je hmyz součástí
běžného jídelníčku, v České republice je hmyz na talíři zatím
jen exotickou delikatesou podávanou ojediněle. Co když je ale
naší budoucností?
Je pravděpodobné, že do patnácti let se bude i Evropa potýkat s
nedostatkem potravin. S očekávaným nárůstem populace bude
třeba zvýšit produkci potravin až o 60 procent. Zdrojů však bude
čím dál tím méně. Vhodnou alternativou se proto jeví právě hmyz.
Nutriční hodnoty, ale především nenáročnost chovu z něj dělají
ideální pokrm budoucnosti. Je libo cvrčky, moučné červy, šváby
či sarančata? Tento krátký dokument z produkce České televize
představuje všechny výhody fenoménu hmyzožroutství.
While in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, insects are a regular
part of the diet. In the Czech Republic, they are eaten sporadically
and considered to be an exotic delicacy. But what if it is
part of our future?
It is likely that within 15 years there will be a food shortage in Europe.
With the expected population growth, there will be the need
to increase the production of food by up to 60%. However, resources
will have been depleted. Insects make a suitable alternative. High
nutritional values as well as easy farming make them an ideal food
