Unter seiner Leitung wurden Anfang der Zwanzigerjahre diese feinen
Uhren, die er selbst in einem Sonderdruck der DUZ als ein „Kunstwerk der
deutschen Taschenuhren-Industrie” beschreibt, fertig gestellt.
Die schweren, soliden Gehäuse kamen aus der hauseigenen Produktion in
Hohenstein-Ernsttal.”

An important, remarkable, rare, astronomic Glashuette hunting case
minute repeating pocket watch with perpetual calendar and moon
phase, chronograph and 30 min. counter - quality 1A
Case: silver, tiered, smooth, silver dome, case design “Louis XV”, chronograph
pusher at “12”, slide for repeating mechanism, gold hinges.
Dial: enamel, Arabic “Empire” numerals, sunk seconds, sunk center, moon
age indication, sunk day-, date-, month indication with considering of
the leap year, sunk cobalt blue enamelled moon phase disc with inlayd
gold stars and moon, gold Louis XV hands. Movm.: 4/5 plate movement,
frosted, gilt, signed, screwed gold chatons, blued screws, mirror-polished
chronograph steel parts, ratchet wheel, 2 hammers / 2 gongs, screw
compensation balance, blued balance spring, very fine florally handengraved
balance cock, index spring fine adjusting device, gold lever and
-escape wheel, gold-chatoned ruby endstone on balance, lever and escape
wheel.
Only three of these watches with perpetual calendar, minute
repetition and chronograph are known. This is the only one with a
silver case.
Waldemar Becker states:
“So far only ten watches with special numbers between 190100 and
190150 are known. At the time I assumed that there were circa 200 of
these exceptional pieces; however, our today our findings indicate that
only about 50 of them exist. In my opinion Ernst Kasiske purchased the
ebauches for the watches around 1900 from the company Victorin Piguet
in Le Sentier/Vallee de Joux. We do not know why Kasiske never finished
the watches. In 1904 he founded the “Glashütter Präzisions-Uhrenfabrik
A.G.” and remained its director until 1918.
As part of this company’s stock the movements then came to the
“Deutsche Präzisions-Uhrenfabrik e.G.m.b.H. “ which was founded in
1918. The brilliant watchmaker and designer Hugo Mueller was technical
director of the DPU during n the difficult post-war economic situation. He
was responsible for the creation of these fine watches in the early 1920s,
which he himself describes as “a work of art by the German pocket watch
industry” in a special edition of the DUZ (German watchmaking paper).
The heavy and strong cases were produced in-house in Hohenstein-
Ernsttal.”
