AUERBACHS KELLER
Im „Goethe-Zimmer“ findet man zahlreiche
Erinnerungen an den Dichter, der hier als Student
häufig einkehrte. Bekannt ist Auerbachs Keller vor
allem durch Goethes „Faust“. Goethe gefiel es hier
so gut, dass er eine Szene an diesem Ort spielen
ließ. Man kann die Studiererei aber auch lassen
und einfach nur gut essen und trinken.
This tavern is world famous and part of German
collective memory since one scene of Goethe‘s drama
„Faust“ is set in this place. Goethe included
„Auerbachs Keller“ in his play because he personally
appreciated frequenting it when he still was
a student.

COFFE BAUM
Im Herzen der Leipziger Altstadt, wenige Meter
vom Alten Rathaus entfernt, befindet sich das
älteste Kaffeehaus Deutschlands. Seit 1711 wird
hier der Sachsen liebstes Getränk, der Kaffee,
ausgeschenkt. Das außergewöhnliche Hauszeichen
gab dem Haus seinen Namen „Zum arabischen
Coffe Baum“.
Located in the heart of the historic city center, just
a few steps from the old City Hall, this is Germany’s
oldest coffee house, serving the Saxons’
favorite beverage: coffee. The
unusual house sign gave this place
its name: “the Arab Coffee Tree”.

FESTIvAL FüR DESIGN
25.-28. Oktober
Jährlich Ende Oktober zeigen
junge deutsche und internationale
Designer ihre Arbeiten aus dem
Interior-, Mode-, Industrie- und
Kommunikationsdesign. Mit zuletzt
über 10.000 Besuchern hat sich
das Festival zum wichtigsten
Designforum in Mitteldeutschland
entwickelt. In diesem Jahr findet
das wandernde Festival in der
Baumwollspinnerei im Szeneviertel
Plagwitz statt.
Young German and international
designers will show their works
in the fields of Interior, Fashion,
Industry and Communications design.
Attracting over 10,000 visitors
last year, the festival has established
itself among the most
important design forums in Central
Germany. This year, the wandering
festival will take place from October
28th to 30th in the cotton-spinning
mill located in the trendy Plagwitz
neighborhood.

Zwei Wochen lang buntes Programm
mit Festen, Filmen, Konzerten,
Ausstellungen, Vorträgen und
internationalen Spezialitäten - ein
Beitrag zum Dialog der Kulturen, für
Toleranz und Akzeptanz in der traditionell
weltoffenen Stadt Leipzig.
Höhepunkt ist das Interkulturelle
Fest am 3. Oktober von 11-18 Uhr auf
dem Markt.
