Cinema for Peace Gala in
the Reichstag in Berlin
The Cinema for Peace Foundation
supports film-based projects worldwide dealing
with global humanitarian and environmental
issues. Supported by celebrated filmmakers and
politicians, the foundation raises public awareness
of social inequality and injustice through
the medium of film. Harald Seiz, founder and
CEO of Karatbars International, is one of the
main sponsors of the Gala. He invited around
20 friends and business partners, largely from
Stuttgart, to the two-day programme. On the
first evening the committee dinner in Berlin’s
exclusive CHINA CLUB was attended by a
select group of sponsors and actors including
Oliver Stone, Jan Josef Liefers und Anna Loos.
On the second evening this year’s Gala was
held for the first time in the Reichstag building.
The global star Catherine Deneuve was presented
with an Honorary Award. Further
Awards were given to Kweku Mandela, the
grandson of Nelson Mandela, and Nadezhda
Tolokonnikova of PUSSY RIOT
