HVAC technology for three mega yachts
Aerius Marine has been contracted by MV
Werften to supply the climate technology
for three mega yachts of the »Endeavor«
class. As a system integrator, Aerius Marine
provides the complete climate control
systems including »turnkey« water
chillers. The package contains everything
from design to delivery / materials logistics
and assembly to commissioning.
The ships are built for the Crystal Cruises
shipping company belonging to Genting
Hong Kong. The prototype »Crystal
Endeavor« is scheduled for delivery
in 2019. The three luxury cruise ships are
equipped with ice class PC6 and allow
AXIKO
tours from the tropics to the polar regions.
With regard to climatic engineering,
the vessels are subject to the highest standards,
e.g. in terms of comfort and sound.
»We are very proud to be able to contribute
to these ships and to bring our experience
from the design and construction
of climate control systems for more than
50 complex passenger ships to MV Werften
now,« says Thomas Arlit, CEO Aerius
Marine. According to Stefan Schleper, Director
Passenger Ships Aerius Marine, the
cooperation between the shipyard and the
Aerius team has worked very well even in
the basic design for the Endeavor class. M
Systems for Global-class cruise ships at MV Werften
The Wismar shipyard MV Werften has
contracted the Axiko consortium for
building HVAC systems for four Global–
class cruise ships including two options.
The vessels are intended for the Chinese
market for the shipowner Star Cruises.
Axiko, established by Engie/Axima
and Koja Oy Marine, received the HVAC
turnkey contract, which will employ
more than 300 people in France, Germany
and Finland from the start of the design
phase in 2017 to the delivery of the
second cruise ship in 2022. The contract
value was reported by Finnish media to
total 200 mill. €. The MV Werften order
incorporates two cruise ships and two options
with a size comparable to the »Harmony
of the Seas«: 204,000 tonnage and
approximately 2,500 cabins.
Koja Marine’s part includes the HVAC
system, equipment and design. Engie/Axima
is responsible for the
HVAC installations, and
for the accommodation,
machinery room, chillers,
and chilled and
heated water production.
Special attention
has been paid to the environmental
dimension
of the project and
the selection of highly
energy effcient equipment.
The design and
engineering has already
started and the installation
work is expected to
take off at the beginning
of 2018 for the delivery
of the first cruise ship in
2021 and the second one
in 2022.
