a new approach to the conference. LEC will
focus in three primary areas: Spiritual
Nurture/Faith Walk, Sustained Professional
Learning, and Homecoming (Fellowship). A
Spiritual theme will now be integrated
throughout the conference as well as in the
weeks leading up to the event and the weeks
following the event with a series of devotions
and Bible studies. Our professional learning
time will now be tracked into areas of singular
focus with extended time spent with the
expert in that area of learning, and our
fellowship time will include a service to the
community component.
The Accreditation Commission oversees
NLSA/WASC/North Central/AdvancED
accreditation in district schools. Kim Violette
chairs the Accreditation Commission, and
serves as our NLSA Commissioner. In
addition, our Early Childhood
Accreditation Commission provides
oversight to all preschools as they go through
the accreditation process. We are nearing
completion of an integrated WASC/NLSA
document that will provide our schools with a
WASC approved document that allows for
examination and integration of our Lutheran
faith components throughout the full selfstudy.
This has been a joint effort with the
California-Nevada-Hawaii District
Accreditation Commission.
