Capital Funding Services
Over 600 congregations of our Synod have
benefitted from this unique ministry of LCEF.
As congregations develop their building or
expansion plans, a successful capital campaign
is often an integral part of the process. CFS is
an arm of LCEF that provides professional
service at a reasonable cost, with distinctively
Lutheran doctrine and practice.
CHANGE AND TRANSITION
During the past triennium, our district LCEF
program has seen change in the staff at the
district office. Longtime administrative
assistant, Sylvia Knight, decided to retire in
March, 2012. She has moved to Colorado to
be near her daughter and two of her
grandchildren. In April, 2012, Gail Kanneg
joined our staff as administrative assistant,
after serving on staff for several years at St.
Paul, Orange.
LOOKING FORWARD
LCEF IN THE PSD
Some of the areas in which we are expecting
to make a difference in our district are these:
Lutheran Church Extension Fund
• Provide demographic information to
assist our congregations and schools
as they plan ministry expansion.
• Provide low cost Neighbor to
Neighbor targeted mailing service for
congregations and schools that need
this marketing tool.
• Provide key marketing tools through
the national office of LCEF for our
schools.
• Encourage our congregations to
become more active in stewardship
emphasis, particularly by utilizing such
resources as Consecrated Stewards.
• Develop participation in LCEF
activities with our district’s ethnic
congregations.
• Continue to provide capital resources
for our congregations and rostered
church workers.
• Promote the availability of financial
analysis and business plan
development for our district schools
that is provided in part, by LCEF
funding of this part time staff position
in school ministries.
While all of this is happening, we continue to
cultivate our investor base as we continually
strive to expand the LCEF investor portfolio
in our district. As the Lord continues to
bring the world to our doorstep, He also will
provide us with the opportunities to expand
our ministries to reach others in this vast
mission field of Arizona, Southern Nevada,
and Southern California.
