The Region One Mission Council gives thanks
and praise to God for His faithfulness,
guidance and blessing on the mission ministry
efforts in Region One of our District!
We give God thanks and praise for the
ministry of Centro Cristiano Emanuel, Santa
Paula and the Rev. Marcelino Velasco. Centro
Cristiano Emanuel is blessed to have 150
people in worship, a growing youth ministry,
and outreach to their community. They are
also involved in reaching out in mission to
Mixteco people in Ventura County as well as
in Mexico. To God be the glory!
We give God thanks and praise for the
missionary work of Centro Cristiano Hispano.
Through the committed efforts of the Rev.
Dennis and Tara Bradshaw and the support of
the Hispanic Mission Society of Circuits One
and Two, new Hispanic work was begun in
Moorpark as Centro Cristiano Hispano
partnered with Faith Lutheran Church,
Moorpark and the Rev. Robert Hiller. That
outreach continues to reach people with the
Gospel. Rev. Bradshaw oversees the work of
their Bible Institute and Lay Training Center
through the SEAN program, provides
pastoral support for the Hispanic pastors and
congregations, and has been working with the
Rev. Steven Hayden and the leadership of
Faith Lutheran Church, Carpinteria for
Hispanic Mission development. To God be
the glory!
We give God thanks and praise for the
missionary work of the Rev. Getachew Kiros.
Reaching out to Ethiopian people, Rev. Kiros
is proclaiming the Gospel, teaching and
leading believers into the grace and knowledge
of our Lord Jesus Christ. To God be the
glory!
Region Mission Councils
We give God thanks and praise for Oromo
Lutheran Church-Los Angeles and the Rev.
Dr. Gemachu Olana. This outreach to the
Diaspora Christian Oromos living in Los
Angeles is a vibrant fellowship of believers in
worship and service. Their mission of moving
people toward Christ has this fellowship of
Ethiopian Christians reaching out to major
cities in California, Las Vegas, and even
internationally! To God be the glory!
We give God thanks and praise for Los
Angeles Hispanic (at Trinity Central) and the
Rev. Marcello Gomez and the mission
ministry commitment of Historic First
Lutheran Church, Pasadena, and the Rev.
Christopher Schaar. Under the leadership of
Rev. Gomez, the saints of Los Angeles
Hispanic are reaching out to their community
with the Gospel of Christ and inviting family
and friends to come and see Jesus. To God be
the glory!
We give God thanks and praise for the work
of our Hispanic Trainer, the Rev. John
Durkovic. We also give God thanks and praise
for His provision to our missionaries and
mission ministries. We thank God for the
commitment our District leadership has for
mission work and the tremendous effort they
put forward to see that mission work
continues to be funded in our District. We
thank God for the members of the District
who give generously and sacrificially for
mission ministry. To God be the glory!
Finally, I give God thanks and praise for the
members of RMC1: Lita Boyle, Frank
Matthews, Rev. Rex Umbenhaur, Rev. Robert
Rebensal, Rev. Ron Rehrer, and Rev. Lowell
Kindschy. I thank them, too, for their
wisdom, commitment and encouragement in
the Lord Jesus Christ. I am blessed to serve
with you. To God be the glory!
