Grantparent tuition assistance began, 401<br />

students have been sponsored with tuition<br />

assistance.<br />

Rachel Klitzing, Executive Director of School<br />

Ministries; Kim Violette, Administrative<br />

Assistant; Ellen Pratt, Part-Time Assistant;<br />

Anna Preus, Part-time Assistant; Paul Brandt,<br />

Part-Time School Consultant; and Lynne Rose,<br />

Part-Time Early Childhood Consultant provide<br />

leadership and support to congregational and<br />

school professional workers and lay leaders.<br />

These services include prayer support;<br />

leadership to cabinets, task forces, and<br />

committees; guidance and consulting;<br />

resources and referrals; personnel assistance<br />

and call lists; newsletter writing and<br />

distribution (E-Connect and Connections);<br />

support for administrators and teachers<br />

through personal visitations, phone contacts,<br />

mailings, e-mail, the Lutheran School Portal,<br />

and School Ministries website<br />

(www.pswcic.org); and representing district<br />

Lutheran schools with other educational and<br />

government entities, i.e. LEA, CAPSO, etc. In<br />

the past two years, a concentrated effort on<br />

communication has focused on the rebuilding<br />

of our School Ministries website as a hub for<br />

communication as well as the creation and<br />

distribution of a weekly electronic newsletter<br />

(E-Connect). Both of these tools have<br />

strategically increased the communication of<br />

our mission and vision to our schools,<br />

educators, boards, pastors and lay leaders.<br />

As School Consultant for Strategic Planning<br />

and Marketing, Paul Brandt brings expertise<br />

and experience to assist our schools in<br />

developing a strategic plan, marketing plan,<br />

and where needed, a business plan. Paul also<br />

leads School Board Training Workshops<br />

regionally each year. These workshops have<br />

been very well received with well over 75 in<br />

SCHOOL MINISTRIES<br />

attendance. As Early Childhood Consultant,<br />

Lynne Rose contributes her experience and<br />

expertise to strengthen our preschools and<br />

Early Childhood Centers.<br />

God has truly blessed the District with<br />

outstanding educators and leaders!<br />

It is a joy and blessing to serve in the Pacific<br />

Southwest District.<br />
