Region Mission Council 3 is comprised of
representatives from Circuits 12-16, 18-19 and
21-24, Vice President Richard Dannenbring,
MMF Gary Norton and Lutheran Church
Extension Representative Ken Voertman.
Others that have faithfully served this region
include Rev. Dan Harmelink, Rev. Ron
Hodel, Albert Jesse, Rev. Allen Kolkman, Bob
Kulowitch, Richard Ross, Joe Sanchez,
Elizabeth Stuhlmuller, Ken Voertman and
Rhoda Zylstra.
Highlights from the RMC 3 since the last
district convention:
1. We are pleased to share that
Edgewater Lutheran, formerly Water
of life Lutheran in Chino, CA, Mission
Developer Rev. Tim Eaton has been
fully operational and growing in the
Inland Empire. Pastor Eaton’s church
worshiped over 250 people on
Christmas and regular weekly worship
has ranged from 125 – 150 and
growing. Edgewater is currently
worshiping at Harada Elementary
School in Eastvale (Corona). In time
they would like to find a permanent
location.
2. Ethiopian ministries are doing well.
What’s next? Because we have so many
requests and only a limited amount of money
we are forced to set a priority list as to which
missions we start with and how they are to be
funded. Once funded, each of our missions is
required to fill out a report giving details on
Region Mission Councils
the work in progress of their mission. Once
the reports are submitted they are reviewed
and discussed quarterly and yearly. I am
pleased to report that quarterly reporting
continues on schedule.
Among other things, our plans are to
strengthen our existing congregations, to look
at new ways to start missions and to develop
funding sources in addition to district mission
commitments.
