Who’s Who Candidate Profiles Board of Directors Commissioned Member Region 2 Karl Fink Home Congregation: Bethany Lutheran, Long Beach, CA Occupation: DCE Experience Pertinent to Position: Administrate/Oversee many ministries in church and school, Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, Adult Ed, School Athletic Director, Confirmation Administrator to name a few of the ministries. I was also involved with National Youth Gathering in mid-80’s (Red Rock – Denver). Currently on Lutheran Youth Fellowship Committee. Chaired many years ago Committee for Oak Glen Youth Leaders Retreat. Involved on Committee here in calling our recent Senior Pastor in 2002. Have formed many long-lasting relationships in Congregations & District. I am a people person. My Vision for the ministry of the PSW: Continuing to share Jesus Christ to an ever-changing district in many and varying ways, so He becomes known to those in our midst who still do not know Him! Deborah Martinez Home Congregation: Our Saviors Lutheran, Arcadia, CA Occupation: Principal Experience Pertinent to Position: Currently serving as principal and teacher of a Christian mission minded school ministry. I have over 30 years of experience in active ministry as a lay person, teacher, educator, youth leader and principal focused in the areas of children’s and youth ministry, music and evangelist outreach. I have served in the capacity of a Board of Directors member for two separate non-profits focused on community outreach. My Vision for the ministry of the PSW: To be an effective resource and support for ministries that still serve as mission outposts in out communities, whether a church, school or associated ministry in order to reach those in spiritual need with the saving message that only Jesus gives. More congregations need to see our District as the means to share and help each other in the important task of spreading the Gospel. 133

Children’s and Youth Ministries, Adult Bible Study Ministries, national and international mission trips. PSD Board of Directors 2009 – present, LCMS convention Delegate 2004, Speaker/presenter at various gatherings and conferences. My Vision for the ministry of the PSW: It is my hope that the PSD support and equip conversations to boldly proclaim Jesus as Lord and Savior in their churches and communities. I pray that God would bless our partnership as congregations and schools at the Pacific Southwest and lead up to a sound financial situation. I also pray that we be good stewards of all the resources that God has entrusted to us and be united in our witness of Jesus.
