7) Establish a special needs ministry task
force which will develop a strategic plan for
the development of training methods that will
aid congregations in ministering to special
needs children, youth and their families.
The task force has been established with 5
members along with myself, seeking to
determine both the critical needs and
availability of resources in this area.
Additionally my work in this first year of this
ministry has resulted in the reestablishment of
an annual DCE Conference, a partnership
between Concordia University and the district
for The Summit, a 5 th & 6 th grade event now
held on campus in Irvine, support and
guidance for the High School and Jr. High
District Youth Gatherings as well as the
Youth Committee, and support for
congregations and DCE’s involved in call
processes.
