During the same years grain quality analysis (protein content and gluten content) were<br />

made of a number of different wheat varieties demonstrating varying degrees of Sun pest<br />

damage as indicated by visual inspection of the grain. However, no correlation was found<br />

between visual damage by Sunn Pest and protein and gluten content, confirming the well<br />

documented knowledge that it is the physical dough characteristics that is damaged by<br />

Sunn pest.<br />
