<strong>Integrated</strong> Option 1: Enhance Existing Supply Scheme Plus Southern Dam and<br />

Comprehensive Demand <strong>Management</strong><br />

This option consists of:<br />

Immediate and short term measures as discussion in section 8.3.3. The initial<br />

capacity of northern and southern filtration plants would be 26 ML/d and 10 ML/d<br />

respectively.<br />

A comprehensive demand management comprising:<br />

− Community education targeting outdoor irrigation<br />

− A active program to retrofit water efficient fittings and equipment, such as<br />

shower roses and aerated taps<br />

− Pricing adjustments<br />

− Active system leak detection and repair<br />

A southern dam (1 500 ML).<br />

<strong>Integrated</strong> Option 2: Enhanced Existing Supply Scheme Plus Southern Dam,<br />

Comprehensive Demand <strong>Management</strong> and Rainwater Tanks<br />

This option consists of:<br />

Immediate and short term measures as discussion in section 8.3.3. The initial<br />

capacity of northern and southern filtration plants would be 24.5 ML/d and 9.5 ML/d<br />

respectively.<br />

A comprehensive demand management comprising:<br />

− Community education targeting outdoor irrigation<br />

− A active program to retrofit water efficient fittings and equipment, such as<br />

shower roses and aerated taps<br />

− Pricing adjustments<br />

− Active system leak detection and repair<br />

10 kL rainwater tank for all new developments with water used for garden watering,<br />

toilet flushing and washing machines, and a retrofit of 10 kL rainwater tanks in 20%<br />

of existing houses<br />

A southern dam (900 ML).<br />

<strong>Integrated</strong> Option 3: Option 2 plus Reticulated <strong>Water</strong> to High Priority Villages<br />

This option consists of:<br />

Immediate and short term measures as discussion in section 8.3.3. The initial<br />

capacity of northern and southern filtration plants would be 24.5 ML/d and 9.5 ML/d<br />

respectively.
