likely to be significantly less than 80 per cent <strong>of</strong> all movements.<br />

• Horn Island – 4 <strong>of</strong> 6 occurrences <strong>in</strong>volved high capacity RPT aircraft (DHC-8).<br />

Based on <strong>the</strong> average traffic mix, aircraft <strong>of</strong> above 8,700 kg MTOW should only<br />

be <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> 13 per cent <strong>of</strong> occurrences.<br />

• Karratha – 5 <strong>of</strong> 12 occurrences <strong>in</strong>volved jet high capacity RPT aircraft (Fokker<br />

100, Boe<strong>in</strong>g 737). Based on <strong>the</strong> average traffic mix, passenger transport aircraft<br />

should be <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> less than 20 per cent <strong>of</strong> occurrences.<br />

• Orange – 6 <strong>of</strong> 7 occurrences dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> report<strong>in</strong>g period <strong>in</strong>volved low capacity<br />

RPT aircraft (Saab 340). Based on <strong>the</strong> average traffic mix, passenger transport<br />

aircraft should only be <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> slightly under half <strong>of</strong> all occurrences, and<br />

aircraft <strong>of</strong> above 8,700 kg MTOW <strong>in</strong> less than 20 per cent <strong>of</strong> occurrences.<br />

• Wagga Wagga – 12 <strong>of</strong> 15 occurrences <strong>in</strong>volved heavy low capacity RPT aircraft<br />

(Saab 340 and DHC-8). Based on <strong>the</strong> average traffic mix, aircraft <strong>of</strong> above 8,700<br />

kg MTOW should be <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> 45 per cent <strong>of</strong> occurrences. Three cases <strong>of</strong><br />

conflict were recorded between two RPT aircraft (one due to an ATS error, one<br />

related to radio congestion on <strong>the</strong> CTAF, and one runway <strong>in</strong>cursion).<br />
