2.1 <strong>PROFINET</strong> copper cable assembly work<br />

There are several types of connectors to connect <strong>PROFINET</strong> copper cables to a<br />

<strong>PROFINET</strong> node: The 8-pin RJ45 <strong>and</strong> the M12 connector.<br />

For an IP20 environment in a cabinet the RJ45 connector is used. In case of<br />

increased requirements with respect to the ingress protection (IP65/67) the RJ45connector<br />

with a push pull housing or an M12 connector (D-coding) is used.<br />
