42 • SDM-DesignTracker 5.0 User Guide Based on Version Specify the base version that this version was created from. This allows you to determine the level of modifications for a product version that is used as the starting point of the new product version. This value defaults if you use the F4 prompt option for Based on Product. Based on Release Specify the base release that this version was created from. This allows you to determine the level of modifications for a product version and release that is used as the starting point of the new product version. This value defaults if you use the F4 prompt option for Based on Product. From O/S Level Specify the operating system level this version was created from. You can specify an actual operating system value, *ANY or *NETCONFIG (which retrieves the value from system attribute). The default value is *NETCONFIG. To O/S Level Specify the operating system level the version will run on. The default value is *ANY. Working with Releases Releases are defined at the product version level. From the Work with Releases for a Product Version panel, you can create, change, delete, and display releases associated with a product version. The additional tasks performed in Work with Releases include: Option 9=Work with Release Objects, to work with the release objects that are in the product version. This provides information about promotion requests, member/object detail, and design requests. Option 10=Work with Release Packages, to work with packages and package dependencies associated with the release, or to create new packages for the product version.. Option 11=Work with Dependencies, to work with and add or delete release dependencies associated with the product version. Option 12=Change Status, to change the release status. See “Using Release Control” in Chapter 5 for information about the release status and valid values. Option 26=DR Report, to print the Design Request Summary Report for design requests associated with the release. Option 27=DR Display, to display design requests associated with the release.
To work with releases: 1. From Work with Products, select a product with option 10=Work with Versions. The Work with Product Versions panel displays. 2. Select a product version with option 10=Work with Releases. The Work with Releases for a Product/Version panel displays. 3. Type 1 to create a new release definition, or use 2=Change, 4=Delete or 5=Display to perform another option. The Product Version Release Maintenance window displays. Product Version Release Maintenance Panel The Product and Version fields default based on the product version you selected on the previous panel. 4. Complete this panel as defined next in “Product Version Release Maintenance Field Descriptions”. 5. When finished press ENTER. The Work with Releases for a Product/ Version panel redisplays.
