62 • SDM-DesignTracker 5.0 User Guide Working With Customers Work with Customers was previously a part of Work with Products. Now as a separate menu option, the customer database is expanded with more functionality for release management processing. This is the primary location for viewing current version information for customers and distributing new versions of software. Work with Customers Panel From option 40, Customers, you can create, change, copy, delete, and display customers. You can also work with customer systems, products, product versions, and customer contacts. Additional options on this panel include: 10=Work with Systems, to work with the systems associated with the customer. It identifies information about their system(s), system location, and whether a receiver is installed. From work with systems you can work with products and product versions, and work with media associated with the customer system. You can also start a pass-through communications session for the purpose of electronic distribution of software. 11=Work with Products, to work with the products associated with the customer. For more information see “Working With Products” on page 34.
Working With Customer Types Customer types are associated with customers, and allow you to classify or group your customers (for example, by industry or business group).
