BEST PRACTICES <strong>2012</strong><br />

The six State <strong>Libraries</strong> shown in the table above are the early-adopters <strong>for</strong> Pinterest. They<br />

are paving the way <strong>for</strong> more government libraries and agencies to gain traction on this<br />

new social media outlet. Will their ef<strong>for</strong>t pay off in more website traffic or exposure to new<br />

audiences? Will consumers tire of Pinterest soon? Or are these the early days of a<br />

communication mechanism that will gain even more attention in the coming years? There<br />

are lots of questions about Pinterest, and the answers will only come with time. But<br />

Pinterest could be the next big thing in bringing your organization’s visual resources to<br />

light, so establishing a presence is worthy of thoughtful consideration.<br />
