the primacy of process and non-representative practices as a means to resist
territorialisation by political capture from above. This prioritisation of
process and non-representationality is encapsulated both in the PGA hallmarks
and the WSF Charter of Principles and appears to flow from the collective
memory (system history) exhibited within GCS that poses the
accumulated experience of trading one system of domination (capitalism)
for another (authoritarian/ state socialism), against the protestations of
orthodox political actors whose linear perspective suggests that representation
equals control equals power. In the Chapter 7, we address these issues
of power and control through analysis of the complex distribution of forces
within the AGM and GCS using a conceptual framework catalysed by the
idea of a ‘parallelogram of forces’.
