Central Transylvania Reynoutria japonica and Reynoutria ×bohemica were recorded by<br />

FENESI (2004). In Eastern Transylvania it was recorded from HR: Mugeni and Şimoneşti<br />

initially as Reynoutria japonica/Polygonum cuspidatum (KOVÁCS J. A. 1975: 160), in the<br />

Szeklerland area (HR, MS, CV) as Reynoutria japonica and Reynoutria × bohemica stands<br />

(KOVÁCS J. A. 2004: 123-124; OPREA 2005: 45), and later the spreading like invasive monodominant<br />

stands as Reynoutria × bohemica distributed along numerous (cca 77) localities<br />

(KOVÁCS J. A. 2006: 116). Moldova: In Moldavia (between Eastern Carpathians and the<br />

Prut river), this species has not been known until now. As a result of our recent field investigations,<br />

we have also found this species in this province, mainly along the riverside in<br />

the mountain regions - along the Bistriţa river and its effluents (at Vatra-Dornei, Pietroasa,<br />

Crucea, Broşteni, Galu, Piatra-Neamţ, Ceahlău, Bicaz, Bicazul Ardelean, Bicaz-Chei,<br />

Ticoş, Taşca, leg. C. Sîrbu & A. Oprea, 2004-2007). Moldova river (at Gura-Humorului,<br />

Negrileasa), but also in the Moldavian Plain (in Iaşi, escaped from culture, on the Florilor<br />

Street, leg. C. Sîrbu, 2006) (SÎRBU C. & OPREA 2008: 43). GL: district Galaţi (CIOCÂRLAN<br />

2009: 267). HR: Lacul Roşu, 1969, leg. C. Burduja & I. Sârbu [I 42.894], sub Polygonum<br />

cuspidatum, rev. C. Sîrbu & A. Oprea (SÎRBU C. & OPREA 2008: 43); idem 1973, leg. E.<br />
