Both Melbourne Dockl<strong>and</strong>s <strong>and</strong> Liverpool provide illustrative examples of what can be achieved<br />
in a Waterfront location. The adaptive re-use of buildings provides the historic reference <strong>and</strong><br />
sense of identity which makes these examples so successful. Improving accessibility <strong>and</strong><br />
connectivity to the waterfront integrates the area with the surrounding districts to create a<br />
coherent urban environment in which value is maximised. This is a larger term proposition <strong>for</strong><br />
<strong>Limerick</strong> at the Lower Dock Area.<br />
