Liverpool Vision (est. 1999).<br />

Newly elected Mayor has assumed<br />

responsibility through the Mayoral Development<br />

Corporation <strong>and</strong> a new Board of 10 Key<br />

partners of Liverpool Vision are Liverpool City<br />

Council, the Liverpool LEP <strong>and</strong> the Homes <strong>and</strong><br />

Communities Agency. In 2012, the City Council<br />

established a fund of £350,000 <strong>for</strong> the<br />

marketing of the city by a discrete team within<br />

Liverpool Vision, to be match funded by the<br />

private sector. Strengthen the Liverpool br<strong>and</strong><br />

world-wide <strong>and</strong> attract inward investment,<br />

entrepreneurs <strong>and</strong> highly skilled knowledge<br />

workers; <strong>and</strong> become a city of talented, highly<br />

skilled <strong>and</strong> innovative people. Key promotional<br />

<strong>and</strong> investment campaigns include:<br />

‘Its Liverpool’ place marketing campaign<br />

launched in 2011 aims to:<br />

Promote the City with a single voice in a<br />

creative <strong>and</strong> consistent way;<br />

Develop a br<strong>and</strong> that appeals to residents,<br />

visitors, investors <strong>and</strong> students;<br />

Create a br<strong>and</strong> plat<strong>for</strong>m <strong>for</strong> partner<br />

collaboration <strong>and</strong> co-creation.<br />

A dedicated place marketing function – each has been established to focus on place marketing<br />

in recognition of the need <strong>for</strong> more positive place reputation to support economic development,<br />

tourism <strong>and</strong> investment.<br />

Established arms length from the local authority as a public/private partnership – recognition of<br />

the need <strong>for</strong> broader ownership <strong>and</strong> place leadership than just the Council.<br />

Leadership <strong>and</strong> governance – a leading figure from the private sector, leads a Board, with a wide<br />

group of other partners from the private <strong>and</strong> public sectors on the Board reporting into an<br />

appropriate partnership eg Local Enterprise Partnership.<br />

Core budget provided by the public sector - supported over time by additional donations from<br />
