The formula in cell B2 follows. This formula uses an IF function to make a decision. If an exact<br />

match is found in the x range, the formula returns the corresponding y value (using the LOOKUP<br />

function). If an exact match is not found, the formula uses the TREND function to return the calculated<br />

“best-fit” y value. (It does not perform a linear interpolation.)<br />
