2.0 Work Plan
The MWP has been prepared to take advantage of the desigrdbuild concept. The design is
based on the information and data currently available. During construction, IT will determine if
constructibility improvements can be implemented to reduce construction costs while
maintaining the regulatory and engineering requirements such as:
● A. minimum co~er slope of 3 percent
● Extension of the flexible membrane liner (FML) a rninimurn of five feet beyond the
perimeter of the refuse
● Appropriate liner material selection
● Adequate cover drainage
● Stable cover slope.
The constructibility improvements currently identified include:

Lowering or raising finish elevations
Increasing the vegetative cover thickness
Modification of the perimeter berm
Deletion of the irdltration basins
Deletion of drainage pipes
Modification or deletion of drainage swales
Combining the general fill and foundation layer
Minimizing material haul distances.
Design modifications will be documented by an engineering review to determine the end product
suitability, cost savings, and constructibility.
The following is an overview of the 0U2 Landfill Closure program. A Site Plan (Figure 2-1)
showing features pertinent to this WWP, is provided for general reference.
2.7 Overview
Area A
The refuse currently located in trenches in Area A will be excavated and transported to Areas B
through D as general fill. Clean soil from Area A will also be transported to stockpiles for
backfill in Area A.
