bark like dogs: “Bow-wow” (“Hav-Hav” – Heb.: give-give), meaning<br />

– “give us <strong>the</strong> wealth <strong>of</strong> this world and <strong>the</strong> wealth <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> world <strong>to</strong><br />

come”.<br />

The level at which <strong>the</strong> person works with <strong>the</strong> Klipot is very important,<br />

because this way he obtains <strong>the</strong> material for his work. He acquires<br />

<strong>the</strong> desires without which he cannot become similar <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Crea<strong>to</strong>r.<br />

Therefore, <strong>the</strong>re must be periods when we receive uncorrected desires<br />

and correct <strong>the</strong>m.<br />

Therefore, <strong>the</strong> level that comes after 13 years is defined as “pure”,<br />

which is <strong>the</strong> meaning <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> writing, “<strong>the</strong> house-maid serves her mistress”,<br />

that is, <strong>to</strong> serve <strong>the</strong> Holy Shechina. It means that <strong>the</strong> maidservant<br />

symbolizes egoistical desires that lead <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> spiritual level <strong>of</strong><br />

bes<strong>to</strong>wal, when <strong>the</strong> person is awarded “<strong>the</strong> light <strong>of</strong> Shechina”.<br />

It is <strong>the</strong> person’s responsibility <strong>to</strong> do everything he can in order <strong>to</strong><br />

gain <strong>the</strong> state <strong>of</strong> “Li Shema” (desire <strong>to</strong> bes<strong>to</strong>w). If he does not make<br />

every effort <strong>to</strong> reach <strong>the</strong> state <strong>of</strong> “Li Shema”, he will fall in<strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

garbage bin <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> “impure” maidservant, who is <strong>the</strong> opposite <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

“pure” one.<br />

Unless <strong>the</strong> person who studies <strong>Kabbalah</strong> begins <strong>to</strong> purify <strong>the</strong> acquired<br />

impure desires, he falls more and more in<strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Klipot.<br />

The zero level corresponds<br />

<strong>to</strong> our natural petty<br />

egoism. Below is <strong>the</strong> area <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> Klipot; above is <strong>the</strong> place <strong>of</strong><br />

Kedusha, <strong>the</strong> intention for <strong>the</strong><br />

sake <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Crea<strong>to</strong>r. Unless <strong>the</strong><br />

person makes an effort <strong>to</strong> apply<br />

<strong>the</strong> right method <strong>of</strong> spiritual ascent,<br />

unless he turns <strong>the</strong> property<br />

“–1” in<strong>to</strong> “+1”, “–2” in<strong>to</strong><br />
