Every part, still, vegetative, and animal, in <strong>the</strong> world Assiya <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
Sefira Bina helps <strong>the</strong> person’s Partzuf Neshama <strong>to</strong> receive <strong>the</strong> complete<br />
light from <strong>the</strong> Sefira Bina. This is also called a “pure animal”,<br />
because it is meant for <strong>the</strong> correction <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> animal level <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
person’s body. The nature <strong>of</strong> its luminescence is <strong>the</strong> same as that in<br />
<strong>the</strong> animal level <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> material world described above; it gives <strong>the</strong><br />
individual a sense <strong>of</strong> life <strong>to</strong> each <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> 613 organs <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Partzuf.<br />
Thus, <strong>the</strong>y feel independent <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Partzuf <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> degree that <strong>the</strong> 613<br />
organs become <strong>the</strong> 613 Partzufim and each <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>m contains its<br />
special, individual light.<br />
Man is isolated from o<strong>the</strong>rs in our world. Unlike plants that turn<br />
<strong>to</strong>wards <strong>the</strong> sun, he can move independently. In contrast <strong>to</strong> plants and<br />
animals that are born and die at a certain time (it is less pronounced<br />
in animals than in plants, although <strong>the</strong>y mate at specific periods <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
year), man is entirely free in his movements, in <strong>the</strong> sensation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> past<br />
and future, in his contact with <strong>the</strong> world, etc. The soul that reaches <strong>the</strong><br />
level <strong>of</strong> Neshama is similarly individual.<br />
When this completely individual Partzuf Neshama emerges,<br />
<strong>the</strong> superiority <strong>of</strong> this light over <strong>the</strong> light <strong>of</strong> Ruach in <strong>the</strong> spiritual<br />
world is equivalent <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> difference between <strong>the</strong> animal, vegetative,<br />
and still levels <strong>of</strong> nature in <strong>the</strong> material world. In addition, a point<br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> light Haya is placed in <strong>the</strong> Partzuf Neshama. Fur<strong>the</strong>r, man<br />
continues developing <strong>the</strong> level <strong>of</strong> Haya.<br />
49. When a person merits receiving <strong>the</strong> great light called Neshama<br />
and <strong>the</strong> 613 organs <strong>of</strong> this Partzuf are each shining with its complete<br />
light aimed at him, each <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>m as a separate Partzuf, <strong>the</strong> person<br />
discovers an opportunity <strong>to</strong> observe every commandment with <strong>the</strong><br />
true intent.<br />
A special light <strong>of</strong> every commandment is shining upon every organ<br />
(desire) <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Partzuf Neshama (Baal HaSulam speaks <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
