active participation in <strong>the</strong> process <strong>of</strong> correction elevates man <strong>to</strong> a fairly<br />
good level <strong>the</strong> moment he makes his decision.<br />
Even if you find it necessary <strong>to</strong> declare that nothing in <strong>the</strong> Upper<br />
Light is <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> sort that “dresses” itself and shines in <strong>the</strong> Ten Sefirot,<br />
that it is only in <strong>the</strong> vessels <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Sefirot, which are not divine, <strong>the</strong>y<br />
are never<strong>the</strong>less created only with <strong>the</strong> creation <strong>of</strong> Souls. This is in<br />
order <strong>to</strong> conceal or reveal <strong>the</strong> degree <strong>of</strong> attainment.<br />
The light is constantly playing with us. However, in actual fact, it<br />
is not a game. Since we consist <strong>of</strong> Reshimo de Yitlabshut and Reshimo de<br />
Aviut (information about <strong>the</strong> light and <strong>the</strong> Kli), consequently, different<br />
informational Kelim are alternately activated in us. Thus, we evaluate<br />
our state ei<strong>the</strong>r from <strong>the</strong> point <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> light, or from <strong>the</strong> point <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Kli.<br />
Therefore, it seems <strong>to</strong> us that we go through different states. The light,<br />
however, is an act according <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> measure and with <strong>the</strong> swiftness that are<br />
required for <strong>the</strong> Souls <strong>to</strong> reach <strong>the</strong> desired correction.<br />
It is similar <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> case where <strong>the</strong> white color in a book and <strong>the</strong><br />
material that forms its letters are all possible in <strong>the</strong> three Worlds <strong>of</strong><br />
BYA, where <strong>the</strong>re are vessels <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Sefirot which have been created,<br />
but not <strong>the</strong> divinity. However, it would be utterly groundless <strong>to</strong> opine<br />
that <strong>the</strong>y exist in <strong>the</strong> World <strong>of</strong> Atzilut where <strong>the</strong> vessels <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Ten<br />
Sefirot as well represent <strong>the</strong> utter divinity, merged with <strong>the</strong> Upper<br />
Light that fills <strong>the</strong>m.<br />
Baal HaSulam wishes <strong>to</strong> say <strong>the</strong> following: in all <strong>the</strong>re are three<br />
components: <strong>the</strong> Crea<strong>to</strong>r, <strong>the</strong> light that is emanated from Him, and <strong>the</strong><br />
Kli that changes under <strong>the</strong> light’s influence in order <strong>to</strong> reach equivalence<br />
<strong>of</strong> form with <strong>the</strong> Crea<strong>to</strong>r. Both <strong>the</strong> Crea<strong>to</strong>r and His light are invariable,<br />
whereas all changes take place in us <strong>to</strong> make us similar <strong>to</strong> Him.<br />
All <strong>of</strong> this exists in absolute unity.<br />
23. In order <strong>to</strong> understand <strong>the</strong> above, we must recall what was said<br />
in paragraph 17, which stated:<br />
