ANNUAL ~EPORT OF THE LIBRARY COMMITTEE
1982/83
LIBRARY COLLECTION:
For the year 1982 the Library had 421 titles added to its collection. Out of
these, 257 titles were in Thai. The total number of the Library's holding is now
16,846 volumes, out of which 9,508 are in foreign languages.
DONATIONS:
There wer~ 148 titl~s donated to the library, of which about SO titles were in
.Thai. Donors were both individuals and institutions. One of the most outstanding
gifts was a collection of thes~s and research work in the Tllai language, in the· field
of arts and culu~re, p~esented by .the Jim Thompson Foundation, along with a shelf to
house the material.
COOPERATION PROGRAMME:
In addition to exchange programmes with local and foreign institutions and the
inter-library loan service, the Library has cooperated with the National Archives for
an in-service training programme.
PERSONNEL:
0Qe Assistant was employed in 1982. During the past year t];te library was
grateful to have Mrs. Bonnie Davis as a library volunteer, who d~voted her· time to
helping w:ith foreign correspondence, as well as checking an~ indexing the Bangkok
Times newspaper for microfilming.
