2. Special Events & Tournaments
o Defined as those which bring recognition to, or increase the public profile of, the
Municipality of Lambton Shores
o International, National, Provincial and Regional multi-sport/recreational events or
events which are sanctioned by the appropriate governing body and which bring
recognition to, or increase the public profile of the Municipality of Lambton Shores
o OFSAA (Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations) and SWOSSAA (South
Western Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association) regional and provincial
tournaments
3. Minor Youth and other Non-profit Youth Organizations within the Municipality
o Defined as having the majority of the registered players being residents of the
Municipality of Lambton Shores and the primary purpose of the organization is to offer,
and involve, individuals in recreation, athletic, cultural or social activities.
o One hundred percent of the participants must be 18 years of age or under prior to
December 31 st of that year’s session and/or the age categories as outlined in the
existing provincial or national governing bodies.
4. Major Municipality of Lambton Shores teams (i.e. Junior B Predators, Senior A Dirty Dogs, etc.)
5. Local Elementary and Secondary Schools
o A publicly-funded school or a “not-for-profit school” recognized by the Province of
Ontario as an education institution, located in the Municipality of Lambton Shores.
6. Adult Non-profit Organizations within the Municipality
o Defined as having the majority of the registered players being residents of the
Municipality of Lambton Shores and the primary purpose of the organization is to offer,
and involve, individuals in recreation, athletic, cultural, or social activities.
o The age of the participants is greater than that which qualifies as a youth organization.
7. All other local user groups
o Defined as any use by an organization or individual where the purpose is to generate
activity for the “public good” of the community or to generate funds which will be put to
a “public good” in the community.
8. Non-resident groups
o Defined as any use by an organization or individual where the organization, group or
individual does not reside or operate within the Municipality of Lambton Shores.
9. Commercial Operations
o Private sector group or individual whose primary purpose in booking the facility is to
make a profit.
Financial Obligation
The Municipality of Lambton Shores will issue invoices on a weekly basis, unless requested differently.
Staff will ensure that all final invoices are issued no later than one (1) week subsequent to the final day
of the ice season.
Ice User Groups understand that invoices are due when rendered. A late payment fee at a rate of 2%
per month on any outstanding balance shall be applied to the account until it is paid in full.
Ice User Groups are responsible for paying off any final balances by the 30 th day of April subsequent to
the final day of the ice season. Failure to do so will forfeit any ice requests made for the next ice season.
Once full payment has been received, the user group may select from the remaining available ice times.
