a difference in their community through active citizenship and support of newcomers.

Caring Canadian Award: Recognizes living Canadians and permanent residents who
have made a significant, sustained, unpaid contribution to their community, in
Canada or abroad.
Lifelong achievement: Nominees have demonstrated significant dedication to
making a difference in their communities by volunteering and providing leadership
over the course of their life.
Emerging Leader: Nominees are new volunteers who help build stronger
communities through exceptional voluntary leadership, and have made or are
making a positive difference in their community.
Community Leader: Nominees are individuals or groups who have provided an
exceptional contribution to their community that improves the well-being of
individuals and families.
Business Leader: Nominees are businesses that demonstrate social responsibility
and support the well-being of their communities.
Social Innovator: Nominees are not-for-profit organizations that use innovative ideas
and approaches, including the adoption of business practices, to improve their ability
to respond to social challenges.
