LSNT MOTION: ENDORSEMENT OF KLONDYKE TRAIL PROPOSAL
The Lambton Shores Nature Trails (LSNT) Executive Committee endorses the
Klondyke Trail Proposal presented to the Lambton Shores Council in October,
2011 by Paul Turnbull (GBCF - Environmental Committee) in principle, and
recommends that LS Council do the same.
LSNT further recommends, subject to unforeseen circumstances, the following:
That the Klondyke Trail Project proceed in three (3) phases:
Phase 1 – Preliminary Planning Review, Environmental Assessment and obtaining
quotes as necessary
Phase 2 – Grading and Construction of 3.8 km of trail to/from and along the
Ausable River
Phase 3 – Installation of benches and completion of the remainder of the proposed
6.8 km loop as necessary
That LS Council consider providing matching funds towards the project
That LS Council consider taking over the ownership and maintenance of the
Klondyke Trail, once completed
