1. All School or Department Web Pages must reside on, and be hosted by, School District Equipment.
Under no circumstances can information generated by the School District, and published on a Web
Server, be contained on unauthorized equipment.
All School or Department Web Site URLs names will be formatted as www.xxx.osceola.k12.fl.us, and
xxx.osceola.k12.fl.us where xxx represents the School or Department initials.
For example, the Web Site URL for Poinciana High School is named www.phs.osceola.k12.fl.us.
2. Standardization of Web Pages
Our district, school, and department web sites have been established as a dynamic forum to educate and
inform the public. It is a means of two-way communication for the purpose of sharing information with the
Osceola community and the world about the goals, school curriculum and instruction, accomplishments,
school offerings and activities, and other information relating to our schools and our mission.
Each department must use the SDOC standardized web template for their pages.
Schools are granted more flexibility in order to convey their school colors and spirit.
The opening/homepage for every school and department should contain the following information:
--school/department name;
--school/department address;
--school/department telephone number;
--school/department fax number;
--school/department office hours;
--principal’s or department administrator’s name;
--at least one contact e-mail address for school/department;
--grade structure (for schools only);
--a picture of the front of the school (for schools only);
--identification as an Osceola School District school (see below);
--link to the district’s website (see below). Russell Holmes has created a png version of the below
graphic with a transparent background to eliminate the “white box” around the graphic. This
looks much better when placed in an area that has a colored background. You can request the
graphic be emailing holmesr@osceola.k12.fl.us Please specify if you need it for a department or
school.
