provided in Attachment C.
Soil Analytical Results
The dry cleaning solvent tetrachloroethene (PCE) was detected in nine of the ten soil
samples submitted to laboratory for chemical analysis (Table 1). However, only two soil
samples [SM-GP-07(10-12) or SM-GP-08 (8-10)] exceeded residential or
industrial/commercial ROs (Table 1).
Trichloroethene (TCE) was detected in one of the soil samples but below the RO. No other
VOC constituents were detected above laboratory detection limits in any of the soil samples
analyzed.
Groundwater Analytical Results
PCE was detected in the groundwater samples collected from temporary monitoring wells
SM-GP-07 and SM-GP-08 at concentrations exceeding the Class I and Class II groundwater
ROs (Table 2).
No other VOC constituents were detected above laboratory detection limits in groundwater
samples collected from the temporary monitoring wells.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS
Based on information obtained during the Phase II ESA, V3 presents the following findings
and conclusions:
• PCE was detected in several soil and groundwater samples. The presence of PCE in
the subsurface indicates that dry cleaning operations were historically performed in
what is now the Mrs. Clean Laundromat tenant space.
• Additional investigation is needed to determine specific contaminant source areas and
to delineate the vertical and horizontal extents of the PCE impacts. These data will be
useful in evaluating remedial alternatives and costs.
• Additional investigation will be required to determine whether the adjacent LUST
incidents and on-site hydraulic lifts have impacted the Site.
