IMPORTANCE OF SOURCE WATER:
Romeoville (Facility Number 1970900) utilize eleven active public water supply wells. Well #1(IEPA #22124) and #3-
#5 (IEPA #22126-#22128), well #7 (IEPA #00621), well #8 (IEPA #00619), well #9 (IEPA #00618), well #10 (IEPA
#00620), well #11 (IEPA #01115), well #12 (IEPA #01281), and well #13 (IEPA #01282) distribute approximately
3,286,000 gallons per day to an estimated population of 33,331 at 10,403 service connections.
WATER SUPPLIES THAT OBTAIN SOURCE WATER FROM THIS FACILITY:
No connected water supplies existed at the time this Source Water Assessment fact sheet was completed.
SOURCE OF WATER SUPPLY:
Well #1 is located off Norman Town Rd. 30 feet east of the main pump station. Well #3 is located on Beverly Griffin
Drive by Lake Shirley. Well #4 is located on Fairfax Street near Macon Avenue next to the tower. Well #5 is located
off of Marquette Road next to the tower. Well #7 is located on Lot 22 Barr Industrial Subdivision. Well #8 is located
130 feet south and 1280 feet east of Weber Road and 119th Street. Well #9 is located on North Carillon Drive, west of
Parcel 8. Well #10 is located 220 feet south and 1280 feet east of Weber Road and 119th Street. Well #11 is located
on South Carillon Drive. Well #12 and #13 are located off Airport Road, east of Interstate Route 55. Well #1, #3, well
#7, well #8 and well #12 utilize a shallow bedrock aquifer of the Silurian formation. Well #8 utilizes a shallow
bedrock of the Silurian formation. As a result well #1, well 3, well #5, well #8 and #12 are considered geologically
sensitive. The aquifers utilized by this facility's wells are overlain by till or other fine grained material of low
permeability (permeability is a measure of the ability of a soil or sediment to transmit fluids). Wells #4, well #7, well
#9, well #10, well #11and #13 are not considered geologically sensitive by the Illinois EPA.
