Soil samples were analyzed for one or more of the following: VOCs, SVOCs, PNAs and TAL
metals constituents. Based on the nature of the constituents associated with hydraulic lifts and
the lack of field indications of contamination, no groundwater samples were collected.
The sampling locations for this REC are provided in Figure 3.2.
4.5 REC 3 – EAST ADJACENT GAS STATION
The following sampling program was performed to characterize REC 3:
Soil boring (SM-GP-16 and SM-GP-18) were advanced by V3 to characterize potential
subsurface impacts (Figure 3.2) associated with the east adjacent gas station. Refusal was
encountered at 14 and 17 feet bgs, respectively. The boring was advanced on the northeast
side of the Site, west of well MW-10 advanced by ERS as part of the Site investigation for the
east adjacent gas station (former Clark Station). No field indications of contamination were
observed in boring SM-GP-16. Soil samples were not collected from the boring.
Groundwater samples were collected from temporary monitoring wells (SM-GP-16 and SM-GP-
18) to characterize groundwater conditions. In addition, groundwater from a permanent
monitoring well, MW-10, installed by ERS, was also sampled. Prior to groundwater sampling,
one round of static water level measurements was taken from the monitoring wells prior to
commencing any purging and sampling activities. The wells were purged and sampled using
the micro-purge low-flow method. Upon stabilization of field parameters, the samples were
collected for VOCs. PNAs were also sampled at MW-10 to update the historical sample. No
evidence of odors or sheen was noted in the groundwater samples.
The sampling locations for this REC are provided in Figure 3.2.
