the speed <strong>of</strong> knowledge ga<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g and development will <strong>in</strong>crease. This effect<br />

then propagates <strong>to</strong> higher levels (i.e. knowledge-related, bus<strong>in</strong>ess<br />

process-related and organisational effectiveness <strong>in</strong>dica<strong>to</strong>rs). One important<br />

feature <strong>of</strong> the bus<strong>in</strong>ess model is that a decay function is implemented<br />

<strong>in</strong> the BM. If players take no action, the situation <strong>of</strong> Coltec gets worse<br />

over time.<br />

<strong>The</strong> status <strong>of</strong> the <strong>in</strong>dica<strong>to</strong>rs <strong>in</strong> the bus<strong>in</strong>ess model are visualized <strong>in</strong><br />

KM Quest. <strong>The</strong> functional relations between different (layers <strong>of</strong>) <strong>in</strong>dica<strong>to</strong>rs<br />

are not visualized, because this is not a learn<strong>in</strong>g goal. <strong>The</strong>se<br />

functional relations concern how effects propagate <strong>to</strong> higher levels <strong>of</strong> the<br />

BM. Because the bus<strong>in</strong>ess model conta<strong>in</strong>s many <strong>in</strong>dica<strong>to</strong>rs, visualization<br />

packages have been created. Each visualisation package is a cluster<strong>in</strong>g<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>in</strong>dica<strong>to</strong>rs that conceptually belong <strong>to</strong>gether. In <strong>to</strong>tal there are 36<br />

visualization packages. Example <strong>of</strong> a visualization package is speed <strong>of</strong><br />

all knowledge processes <strong>in</strong> market<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

One special visualization exists, namely the knowledge map. <strong>The</strong><br />

knowledge map is a visualization <strong>of</strong> knowledge departments and pro-
