A typical mounting arrangement <strong>for</strong> the type TXRDO crossed roller<br />

bearing is shown in Figure 81.<br />

The arrangement shown is <strong>for</strong> lubrication by oil circulation in<br />

conjunction with an oil level. It can, however, be designed <strong>for</strong> grease<br />

lubrication with appropriate sealing arrangements.<br />

The bore of the housing (DH) and the diameter of the spigot (DS)<br />

(Figure 82) should be machined to give a mean of the suggested<br />

interference fits (pages 86-87).<br />

The bearing is adjusted externally by segments beneath the top inner<br />

ring clamping plate (Figure 82) to get the required preload.<br />

Your <strong>Timken</strong> representative should be consulted <strong>for</strong> more details<br />

about the use of crossed roller bearings.<br />
