Unit aim<br />
The aim of this unit is to enable the learner to develop the knowledge and skills to take part in an<br />
interview through practical learning and application. The skills developed by the learner will include<br />
travelling to the interview, taking part in a mock and a real interview. The knowledge acquired by<br />
the learner will enable them to describe their skills in an interview situation, understand how to<br />
present themselves during an interview and assist them to review what went well and what did not<br />
go well in the interview.<br />
Learning outcomes<br />
There are five learning outcomes to this unit. The learner will be able to:<br />
1. Prepare for a mock interview<br />
2. Take part in a mock interview, captured in the most appropriate way for the learner<br />
3. Review the mock interview<br />
4. Prepare for a real interview<br />
5. Attend a real interview<br />
Guided learning hours<br />
It is recommended that 20 hours should be allocated for this unit. This may be on a full-time or parttime<br />
basis.<br />
Assessment and grading<br />
This unit will be assessed by:<br />
• Assessor observation<br />
• Recording of the interview(audio/visual/detailed notes)<br />
• Witness statements<br />
• Oral questioning by the assessor<br />
