Unit aim<br />
The aim of this unit is to enable learners to maintain the skills and knowledge they need to carry out<br />
their new job role. They will consistently demonstrate skills in the workplace to complete tasks and<br />
to follow health and safety guidance in a practical setting. They will consistently demonstrate that<br />
they follow workplace rules and deal with problems at work according to the employer’s<br />
procedures.<br />
Learning outcomes<br />
There are four learning outcomes to this unit. The learner will be able to:<br />
1. Travel to and from work with a minimum of supervision over an agreed period of time<br />
2. Demonstrate that they can maintain safe working practises in the workplace over an agreed<br />
period of time<br />
3. Demonstrate good time management skills over an agreed period of time<br />
4. Maintain skills at work to the required standard over an agreed period of time<br />
Guided learning hours<br />
It is recommended that 70 hours should be allocated for this unit. This may be on a full-time or parttime<br />
basis.<br />
Assessment and grading<br />
This unit will be assessed by:<br />
• Assessor observation<br />
• Oral questioning by the assessor<br />
• Employer feedback/witness statements<br />
