1 Introduction to the qualification Qualification title and level Entry Level 3 Certificate in Personal Progression through Employment City & Guilds qualification number 3803-03 Ofqual accreditation number 500/6968/8 Last registration date 31/12/2010 Last certification date 31/12/2011 The Entry Level 3 Certificate in Personal Progression through Employment is designed to support learners to progress into/towards employment, to develop their skills in a number of different areas. This qualification is predominately aimed at people with a learning disability; however the nature of the qualification would also suit other learners that do not thrive within a traditional classroom setting. The qualification covers areas such as; exploring job opportunities in the workplace, interview preparation and performance, planning and making a journey using public transport, learning about their role at work and maintaining a work placement which would hopefully lead to paid employment. Providers will be able to select a package of units appropriate to the needs of the individual learner. It is a practical qualification using real opportunities and materials, be it in the work place or through practical pre employment preparation, to allow for sustained learning. Learners will be able to develop their knowledge and/or skills to prepare for employment in a broad occupational area. This qualification offers a Certificate on the QCF in the Foundation Learning Tier. The qualification promotes a range of generic and transferable skills, personal qualities and attributes essential for successful performance in working life. It replaces the City & Guilds Entry Level 3 Certificate in Personal Progression through Practical Work Skills (3802-03) which expires on 31/08/2010. This qualification was developed in association with Mencap, a leading Learning Disability organisation and contains units that have been developed by other Awarding Organisations.
