Preparing for work placement<br />

Unit aim<br />
This unit introduces the learner to the importance of knowing what will be expected of them during<br />
their work placement and knowing what they hope to achieve as a result of this experience.<br />
Learning outcomes<br />
There are four learning outcomes to this unit. The learner will be able to:<br />
1. Know where they plan to do work placement<br />
2. Know what is expected of them during the work placement<br />
3. Know appropriate sources of support for dealing with anxiety or uncertainty during the work<br />
placement<br />
4. Know what they might achieve from the work placement<br />
Guided learning hours<br />
It is recommended that 10 hours should be allocated for this unit. This may be on a full-time or parttime<br />
basis.<br />
Assessment and grading<br />
This unit will be assessed by:<br />
• Assessor observation<br />
• Oral questioning by the assessor<br />
