to report and recommends for adoption the following resolution

90 09 Consent Calendar
WHEREAS
Management and
the State of Connecticut Department of Emergency
Homeland Security through the U s Department of
Homeland Security is authorized to extend financial assistance to
municipalities in the form of grants and
WHEREAS this funding has been made possible through the U S
Department of Homeland Security and
WHEREAS
funds under this grant will be used to support long
term maintenance of the investments made to protect the Port area and
WHEREAS it is desirable and in the public interest that the City of
Bridgeport submit an
application to the U S Department of Homeland
Security in an amount not to exceed 304 825 for the purpose of funding
sustainablility costs tune ups and or extended warranties on various
equipment and required training on equipment purchased under Port
Security Grant Programs and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE City Council
1 That it is cognizant of the City s grant application and
contract to the U S
Department of Homeland Security or
funds to support long term maintenance of the
investments made to protect the Port area
2 That it hereby authorizes directs and empowers the
mayor or his designee to execute and file such application
with the U S Department of Homeland Security for the
Port Security 2010 Program to provide such additional
information and to execute such other contracts and
documents as may be necessary under this program
