Prerequisite: Grade of “C” or higher in both MUS 1403 Ear Training I and in MUS 1503 Harmony I. Co-requisite: concurrent enrollment in MUS 1513
Harmony II. Offered in the spring semester. Ear Training II is a continuation of MUS 1403 and is designed to develop and improve aural skills and
general musicality. It will closely parallel skills learned in MUS 1513 Harmony II. (GE)

Prerequisite: Grade of “C” or higher in MUS 1002 Music Fundamentals or passing score on Theory Placement Exam. Co-requisite: concurrently enrolled in
MUS 1403 Ear Training I. Offered in the fall semester. Harmony I is designed to introduce beginning concepts in music theory. The course must be
taken concurrently with Ear Training I. (GE)

survey of music including the study of elements and forms of music; selected musical works; music terminology; important musical genres,

Prerequisite: Grade of “C” or higher in MUS 1111L Concert Choir II. Offered in the spring and fall semesters. Concert Choir is an auditioned choral
ensemble designed to fulfill the ensemble requirements for music majors and/or serve as a personal enrichment course for a qualified nonmajor.
This group of mixed voices performs music from a variety of periods and styles. This course may be repeated for additional credit. (GE)

Prerequisite: Grade of “C” or higher in MUS 1121L Soundscape II. Soundscape is a small auditioned vocal ensemble that performs a variety
of music including pop, jazz, Broadway, classical and country. This group serves as the public relations arm of the music department.
Membership in this ensemble will require significant performance time outside of regularly scheduled class. (GE)
