68.c technical/career programs Emergency Medical Technician This program consists of one eight-hour credit course including both lecture and practicum experiences that will meet the requirements for students to take the State of Arkansas and National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Examination. These exams are administered through the Arkansas Department of Health. Requirements • n Students must complete admission requirements of the college. • n Applicants must be at least 18 years old. • n Current AHA Healthcare Providers CPR certification is required. Students enrolled in the program will be required to have malpractice insurance. • n TB Screening/Clearance. • n Subject to criminal background check. • n Language Arts/College Success must be completed prior to EMT 1008 if placement scores indicate.
