Arts or ACAD 0211 Reading Review. Offered in the fall semester. The student will learn about changing engine oil and filter; transmission service;<br />

coolant flush and refill; checking of all fluid levels; inspecting belts, hoses, tires, air filters, and wiper blades; checking battery connections <strong>for</strong><br />

corrosion; and using the correct type fluids <strong>for</strong> the vehicle.<br />

Arts or ACAD 0211 Reading Review. Offered in the fall semester. This course covers diagnosis and repair of the following: general electrical<br />

systems, batteries, starters, lighting systems, gauges and warning devices, horns and wipers, charging systems, power seats, door locks,<br />

reading of wiring diagrams and other miscellaneous accessories. Lab is designed to allow students sufficient hands-on application to per<strong>for</strong>m<br />

practical work in applying theory learned in lecture classes. Students will be assigned vehicles to repair in a manner designed to provide<br />

adequate practical application in all areas of automotive repair.<br />

repair, engine block repair, lubrication and cooling systems, ignition systems, and fuel and exhaust systems. Lab is designed to allow students<br />

sufficient hands-on application to per<strong>for</strong>m practical work in applying theory learned in lecture classes. Students will be assigned vehicles to<br />

repair to provide adequate practical application in all areas of automotive repair.<br />

diagnosis, drive shaft and universal joint repair, ring and pinion gears, differential case assembly, and four-wheel drive component repair. Lab<br />

is designed to allow students sufficient hands-on application to per<strong>for</strong>m practical work in applying theory learned in lecture classes. Students<br />

will be assigned vehicles to repair in a manner designed to provide adequate practical application in all areas of automotive repair.<br />

Prerequisite: Grade of “C” or higher in AST 1023 Automotive Electrical Systems. Offered in fall semester of odd years. The student will study hydraulic<br />

system diagnosis and repair including master cylinder, fluid lines and hoses, valves, drum brakes, disk brakes, anti-lock brake systems, and<br />

power assist units. Lab is designed to allow students sufficient hands-on application to per<strong>for</strong>m practical work in applying theory learned<br />

in lecture classes. Students will be assigned vehicles to repair in a manner designed to provide adequate practical application in all areas of<br />

Prerequisite: Grade of “C” or higher in AST 1302 Power Trains I. Offered in spring semester. The student will study ring and pinion gears, differential<br />

case assembly, and four-wheel drive component repair. Lab is designed to allow students sufficient hands-on application to per<strong>for</strong>m practical<br />

work in applying theory learned in lecture classes. Students will be assigned vehicles to repair in a manner designed to provide adequate<br />

practical application in all areas of automotive repair.<br />

Prerequisite: A grade of “C” or higher in AST 1023 Automotive Electrical Systems. Offered in spring semester. The student will learn the theory of<br />

electronic systems in anti-theft, SRS (supplement restraint system), module to module info, advanced module, network diagnosis and network<br />

communication. Lab is designed to allow students sufficient hands-on application to per<strong>for</strong>m practical work in applying theory learned in<br />

a lecture classes. Students will be assigned vehicles to repair in a manner designed to provide adequate practical application in all areas of<br />
