Sound on the UACCM Campus
It is important that individuals and groups within the College community respect others’ rights by not creating noise disturbances. The
UACCM Police will respond to reports of excessive noise.
Tobacco Products
Effective May 15, 2009, the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) is a tobacco-free campus. Though UACCM
does not seek to force a required cessation of tobacco products by its students, faculty, staff, or visitors, smoking and use of tobacco products
will not be permitted anywhere on the UACCM campus.
Definition of Terms
• n Tobacco Product—includes but is not limited to cigarettes (including tobacco-free and nicotine-free cigarettes), cigars, pipes, chewing
tobacco, and snuff.
• n Campus—Includes college vehicles; vehicles parked on college property; and any and all UACCM owned, leased, or maintained property
including but not limited to buildings, facilities, sidewalks, parking lots, building entrances and common areas, athletic fields, outdoor
seating, and grounds.

Provisions
• n This policy replaces all previous tobacco policies.
• n Effective May 15, 2009, the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) is a Tobacco-Free Campus. All tobacco use
on campus is prohibited.
• n This policy applies to trustees, staff, faculty, students, visitors, vendors, and contractors.
• n Organizers and attendees at public events on the UACCM campus such as conferences, meetings, public lectures, social events, and
cultural events will be required to abide by the UACCM Tobacco-Free Campus Policy. Organizers of such events are responsible for
communicating this policy to attendees and for enforcing the policy.
• n Contractors and their employees providing a service to the UACCM campus are also required to abide by this policy.
• n The sale of tobacco products on the UACCM campus is prohibited.
• n The free distribution of tobacco products on the UACCM campus is prohibited.
• n Tobacco advertisements are prohibited in college publications.
Implementation
• n Based upon health data, it is the hope of UACCM that students, employees, and visitors recognize the value of this policy and voluntarily
comply.
• n Implementation and enforcement of this policy are the shared responsibility of the entire college community. Therefore, all members of the
college community are asked to courteously and tactfully inform persons in violation of the Tobacco-Free Campus Policy concerning their
violation.
• n Appropriate signs will be posted on campus. However, the Tobacco-Free Policy applies whether or not signs are posted.
• n Managers and supervisors interviewing applicants for possible employment with UACCM will inform the applicants that UACCM is a
tobacco-free campus.
• n The Admissions Office will inform prospective students that UACCM is a tobacco-free campus.
• n Any contracts or agreements for use or lease of UACCM property or facilities will clearly state the college is a tobacco-free campus.
Compliance
• n Students, employees, and visitors are expected to comply with all UACCM policies and procedures.
