Bosnia-Herzegovina NDI trained Bosnian trainers who worked with 43
Bosnian NGOs to prepare monitors in an informal
effort for the 1996 elections, and NDI assisted
NGOs in limited monitoring of the 1997 elections;
in 1998, NDI assisted election monitoring coalitions
of local NGOs in Sarajevo, Tuzla, Mostar and
Banja Luka that included 110 organizations; more
than 150 Bosnian organizations then coalesced
under the auspices of Bosnia’s Centers for Civic
Initiatives (CCI), an organization with which NDI
worked closely.
