A Taste of DTS<br />

CENTER FOR CHRISTIAN<br />

LEADERSHIP<br />

The Center for Christian Leadership (CCL),<br />

founded in 1986, serves as a training and<br />

resource center to develop leadership skills<br />

in DTS students, alumni, and other Christian<br />

workers and business leaders. <strong>Programs</strong><br />

include leadership conferences, spiritualgifts<br />

assessment, church consulting, lifeplanning,<br />

character development, and<br />

assistance in vision refinement.<br />

In conjunction with the <strong>Academic</strong> Dean’s<br />

Office, the CCL coordinates the Department<br />

of Spiritual Formation and Leadership and<br />

the Center for Biblical Studies.<br />

Center for Biblical Studies<br />

The <strong>Dallas</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong> Center for Biblical<br />

Studies (CBS) offers nondegree, adult<br />

continuing-education courses in Bible,<br />

theology, spiritual life, and ministry skills for<br />

people in the <strong>Dallas</strong>/Fort Worth area. CBS<br />

offers evening courses in the fall, spring, and<br />

summer terms. Upper-level M.A., Th.M.,<br />

S.T.M., and Ph.D. students teach CBS courses<br />

for internship credit. (See the Department of<br />

Spiritual Formation and Leadership for the<br />

Ministries Internship.)<br />

SUPPORTING MINISTRIES<br />

Bibliotheca Sacra<br />

The oldest conservative theological journal<br />

in America, Bibliotheca Sacra has been in<br />

continuous publication since 1843 and has<br />

been published by <strong>Dallas</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong> since<br />

1934. This quarterly journal contains articles,<br />

periodical reviews, and book reviews on<br />

biblical exposition and current theological<br />

and ministerial issues of interest to pastors,<br />

scholars, alumni, teachers, and serious lay<br />

Bible students. Bibliotheca Sacra enjoys one<br />

of the largest circulations of any theological<br />

journal in the world.<br />

Faculty Ministries<br />

<strong>Dallas</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong>’s distinguished faculty<br />

members are in frequent demand as speakers<br />

and leaders at Christian conferences and<br />

professional association conferences in the<br />

United States and around the world. Several<br />

of them are involved in popular radio and<br />

video ministries, and all serve in local churches.<br />

Kindred Spirit<br />

<strong>Dallas</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong> publishes Kindred Spirit<br />

four times a year as a ministry to friends<br />

of the school. Each issue of this awardwinning<br />

magazine features helpful articles<br />

on Bible doctrine and Christian living from<br />

a conservative, evangelical perspective.<br />

Free subscriptions are available within<br />

the United States.<br />

Off-campus Bible Conferences<br />

Each year the <strong>Seminary</strong> sponsors Bible<br />

conferences taught by faculty members<br />

at Mount Hermon Bible Conference<br />

in California and Word of Life in Florida.<br />

<strong>Dallas</strong> <strong>Theological</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong> is accredited<br />

by the Commission on Colleges of the<br />

Southern Association of Colleges and<br />

Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur,<br />

doctoral degrees. The <strong>Seminary</strong> is also<br />

an accredited member of the Association<br />

of <strong>Theological</strong> Schools in the United<br />

<strong>Dallas</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong> is a member of the Association<br />

of Christian Schools International<br />

(ACSI), the Evangelical Training Association<br />

(ETA), the Jerusalem University College, the<br />

Institute of <strong>Theological</strong> Studies (ITS), and an<br />

affiliate member of the Council of Christian<br />

Colleges and Universities (CCCU).<br />

<strong>Dallas</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong> is nondenominational<br />

and seeks to serve those of like biblical<br />

faith in evangelical Protestantism. The<br />

faculty, governing boards, and students<br />

are members of various denominational<br />

or independent churches.<br />

LOCATION<br />

The main campus of <strong>Dallas</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong> is<br />

located in <strong>Dallas</strong>, Texas, with a metropolitan<br />

area population of over 4 million.<br />

With an average temperature of 66 degrees<br />

and an abundance of affordable housing,<br />

the city also boasts beautiful residential<br />

areas, parks, and playgrounds, along with<br />

fine schools and universities. Students and<br />

their families may enjoy a host of cultural<br />

activities, museums, and participant and<br />

spectator sports.<br />

The business capital of the Southwest, <strong>Dallas</strong><br />
